Just saw "Young Bess" for the first time (on TCM). A few pivotal scenes of Jean Simmon's stood out, reminding me again of how she was an 'Audrey Hepburn' with actor's chops. Does anybody else remember this wonderful performer fondly?

The lovely Sergeant Sarah Brown, drunk on "milk" in Havana!

My favorite Jean Simmons part is a marvelous supporting turn in "The Grass is Greener," with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in the lead roles.

You're so right... "Guys and Dolls" was a highlight of her career. She is absolutely adorable in that "If I were a bell" number.

And if you want a mind-numbing double bill, back up the portrayal of Sargeant Sarah with a viewing of her turn as Sister Sharon in "Elmer Gantry": the naive, sincere true-believer versus the cynical, compromised religious huckster. Her range as an actress is extraordinary.
